...what would you do? This is just a little muck-up hypothetical situation of sorts. No, I did not get threatened today if you're wondering as to why I'm posting this topic.
I'd say that I'd be one of those wimpish characters who would freeze up for a good few seconds upon being presented with such a situation. I might babble in a pathetic attempt to reason with him/her or I might skip that step and just bolt. I honestly don't think that I would be brave enough to try to fight anybody carrying a weapon though I suppose that if I were cornered, I'd give it a try.
Also, apologies if this is in the wrong area. Feel free to move it.

I'd probably scream like a little girl and run away.

If a friend pulls a knife on you, then he/she isn't your friend. I'd probably eat him/her.

Hmm. I think I would definitely keep my cool, and start talking to them about anything but the freaking knife. I'd probably babble something like, "Hmm. Okay, honey, I'm sensing a little tension here. Is there something you'd like to tell me?" and we'd kind of go from there.

Well if you were a big person then you wouldn't have to worry about the weapon is the first place. My solution is eat a humble hamburger, have two, maybe even three.... hey why stop there. Eat til you can't see your toes! That way you don't need to worry about any puny weapon.

Go for wrist control, kick out their right leg and palm punch their forehead. Once they've fallen you step on their hand, grab the knife and yell at them. Yay for learning Taekwondo (Oh god, the Mozilla Firefox correction for "Taekwondo" is Wonderbra :S)

To try to punish or try to save? Is it justice?

I'd use it to cut thier balls off then shove them up their nose.
then id wave the knife like a rolled up newspaper and say
"No. Bad friend. Bad"

That's a funny mental image. But first, how would you disarm em?

in this case, for me, it really depends on the friend. a couple i could take, knife or not, and a couple i wouldnt try even if I was the one with the knife.

Tch. I'd run them through with ol' ironsides, my trusty talking cutlass. Or run away.

It depends on the friend, it depends on the situation. It depends on where we are. I could take most of my female friends (if I they were blocking my exit and I had tried to talk). There are a few males who I might be able to take down. But really, I'd first talk it through, try to find out .why. they were drawing a knife on me. Their answer would influence my next decision. If it were a lost cause as super effing angry, I'd run. If they were drugged or drunk and not completely in control of their bodies, and take my chances (if they were someone I'd fight). If I were backed up and closed off from escape, I would talk to them and then look as if I was giving up, shutting down and change plans once there was a change in situation. Or try something once they were close enough to me.
That or I could break out the .22 rifle that I was .obviously hiding on my person (why d'ya think I don't ever bend my right leg?) and make a get-away that way. Or throw and cat in their face. Or just walk up to them and give them a hug. Hugs work wonders on murderous crazy people with knives ^_^
